Expenses for repairs this year are exceptionally high as the rigging is a one time thing, antifouling every two years, we've had only maintenance expenses on the engine up to this year and the hardtop is a one time expense.
Last year we had marina fees only.

June        859
July         637
August    783

The entertainment figure includes meals and museum entrance fees.
Mar covers marina fees and charges to moor or anchor.
Land covers buses, taxis and trains.
Boat covers materials for repairs & items bought for cruising such as charts, guidebooks, etc.  We already had the majority of our charts, electronic charts and guidebooks before we started cruising for the year.
Greece also included 300 for the Corinth canal and 72 entrance fees.
The fuel was very expensive in Turkey.  The marina was for Istanbul and the day we cleared in.

ANCHORING VERSUS MARINA
We spent a total of 26 nights in a marina.  13 of these were when family visited in Rome, 6 to visit Venice, 4 in Istanbul, 1 to clear in to Turkey and 2 to visit Ephesus in Turkey.  We try to minimize our time in marinas as those are the largest expenses and we actually prefer anchoring.  It's cooler and quieter, not to mention the nice rocking to sleep when we are at anchor.  We generally go in to a marina if we are going to be spending the entire day a distance from the boat.  Weather can always change unexpectedly and Glenn doesn't like to leave his baby in harm's way.
